Technologist - U.S.

Job Summary:

We manage IT assets dispositioned from corporate environments, and provide data sanitization and electronic waste management services. Our services include the accurate recording of serial numbers, identifying IT asset types, prepping, packing, and palletizing IT assets for safe and secure transport, and securely eradicating data from hard disk drives and other storage media. All necessary training will be provided (formal, information, and comprehensive on-the-job (OJT), along with daily support from team leads and our headquarters.

Principal Duties and
Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of a Technologist is to deliver on-site services at client facilities throughout North America and, occasionally, overseas. Tasks and duties include:

Performing all necessary onsite and offsite pre-implementation tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Scheduling and securing facility access.
  • Understanding and adhering to Revert and client documented policies, processes, and procedures.
  • Validating prerequisites, assumptions, and responsibilities.
  • Managing delivery and setup of service delivery tools and materials to deliver the Services.

Works with project managers, account managers, and on-site staff to deliver on-site services to clients.

  • Regularly performs IT asset de-installation services, on-site IT asset inventories, and data eradication services at client facilities.
  • Ensures on-site inventories associated with IT asset pick-ups are properly performed.
  • Occasionally perform client site visits to assist with issue resolution.
  • From time to time performs other duties as assigned or as required by the position.

Performing basic troubleshooting and following documented escalation procedures.

Responding promptly to calls for service.

Completing and submitting in an accurate and timely manner all company paperwork, including but not limited to:

  • Project updates
  • Daily time sheets
  • Expense reports

Acquiring and maintaining any and all required Revert and storage vendor certifications.

Is responsible for aspects of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) over which he/she has control, including adherence to Revert’s applicable OH&S requirements.

Required Technical Skills:

Must have a working knowledge of PC hardware and use.

Must have an interest, willingness, and aptitude to:

  • Develop a thorough understanding of server, storage, and desktop hardware.
  • Understand how to de-install servers and other IT assets from racks in data centers.
  • Learn and execute IT hardware maintenance and repair.

Working knowledge and experience in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (particularly Microsoft Outlook and Excel), and web browser.

Skilled at moving heavy loads (using the right tools for the environment, e.g. pallet jack, hand truck, furniture dolly).

Must be able to work in confined spaces.

Must be able to lift and move 50-pound loads consistently, and up to and exceeding 100 pound loads occasionally.

Minimum Education and Experience
Required:

Preferred candidates must have an Associate’s degree with at least one (1) year of on-site, client-facing experience.

Additional Details:

This is NOT an “office” job or “traditional IT” job.

Willingness and ability to travel up to 100% within the contiguous United States is required. Reliable transportation is required. Airfare, hotel, and car rental are paid upfront by Revert; meals and other miscellaneous travel expenses shall be reimbursed in accordance with Revert’s travel policy.

When not assigned to a project, it is expected that the Technologist will work out of the Louisville, CO office.

Technologists will be working in varying environments: everything from a data center to a loading dock. This means exposure to heat, cold, dust, and noise.

Candidates must be willing to submit to a comprehensive background check and drug screening prior to employment.

Candidates must execute an Employment Agreement and agree to a zero-tolerance Code of Conduct.
